My Green Lab Certification

Mediated by Zero Waste Lab, the Genetics Laboratory of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Porto is now certified as a Green Level Certified Lab, now holding a more refined plan for continuous improvement. Read more! Thanks to the University Lab for the courage to embark on this challenge, and also to MyGreenLab for all the direct and indirect support in the strengthening of a movement that already has more than 1700 certified laboratories around the world, building a global network of sustainability in science.

Policy Paper Liga-Ação

We have sent the portuguese government a set of 21 legislative measures to encourage reuse and repair in Portugal! With this policy paper, we want to put these pillars at the top of the political agenda and accelerate the transition to a circular economy! This important step was led by ZWL and CEP and supported by 24 organizations and experts from the sector, who collaborate through our digital platform Liga-Ação.

REVESTE Lisboa project

The REVESTE Lisboa project aims to promote the circular economy through the reuse of clothes and textiles, strengthen social inclusion through training and income opportunities, and promote the solidarity and proximity economy. It will begin as a physical store selling second-hand clothes and with a space for mending and sewing in Marvila and will have mobile stores around Lisbon.
This project has the support of the BIPZIP2022 Program Lisbon Municipality, Marvila Parish Council, AGIR XXI and reCloset, and with the partnership of the Salvation Army - Woodpecker Project.

MARCH, THE MONTH OF BULK

The main objective of the "March, the Month of Bulk" campaign is to encourage and mobilize all the country's actors, with a focus on citizen-consumers, and the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for bulk sales in Portugal.

Manifesto for the reuse and repair

Circular Economy Portugal, in collaboration with Zero Waste Lab and other organizations, initiatives and experts, have developed a manifesto on the importance of reuse and repair to create a low-carbon circular economy. This collective vision is the starting point for an advocacy campaign that will run throughout this year. The campaign is open to other organizations committed to promoting reuse and repair. LIGA-AÇÃO|Rumo ao Desperdício Zero

The Liga-Ação project is now on wheels! Liga-ação is a digital platform by everyone for everyone, which promotes networking and the empowerment of Portuguese civil society, with the aim of making Zero Waste choices as easy, conscious and accessible in everyday life as any other.  This Zero Waste Lab project has the support of the EEA Grants Active Citizens Program, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the Bissaya-Barreto Foundation and the partnership of Circular Economy Portugal, FOE-Naturvernforbundet and Maria Granel.

Betclic Apogee: 1s Carbon Neutral eSports Team

Congratulations to Betclic Apogee for being an example of what it really means to embrace our shared responsibility, they are the world's first carbon neutral eSports team! It is a big step to encourage other teams and the 2.7 billion gamers around the world to do the same and an example of impact consulting from ZWL!

COMPOSTING SCHOOL

Zero Waste Lab teamed up with the composting company Mudatuga and Hortas Lx, which are dedicated to permaculture and organic farming, to create the first free and affordable composting school for anyone who wants to participate!

The booklet is the result from the Zero Waste Cleaning Workshop, held on September 19 during the Green Week of the Goethe Institut, and not only offers the recipes of the products made in the workshop by recycling the waste, but also the results of its environmental impacts and economic savings.

Zero Waste Week

Zero Waste Week, is a closing initiative of the 1st year of the project ZERO WASTE LAB, BIPZIP 2019 project, supported by the Lisbon City Council. During the week, from 13 to 17 October, integrated in the Umundu Festival, ZERO WASTE LAB offers a diverse programme of activities with the aim of promoting the Zero Waste concept and contributing to sustainability and transition to a future without waste.

Promovido pela Rebundance, juntamo-nos regularmente durante 15 meses para falar sobre o futuro da alimentação. Quem somos? De um chefe de cozinha mediterrânica e ativista da alimentação saudável ao amador de alimentação vegana, da psicóloga especializada em obesidade infantil à voluntária dedicada ao reaproveitamento de alimentos confecionados, do empreendedor que fornece clorofila viva a uma sábia em ação social ao chefe de cozinha crudívora, da investigadora à ativista em lixo zero... Somos uma vasta riqueza de 50 perspectivas diferentes com vontade de criar um visão comum.

Beata é Plástico

Aqui está o vídeo final do Projeto Beata é Plástico da Zero Waste Lab, em parceria com a Representação da Comissão Europeia em Portugal e com o Parlamento Europeu - Gabinete em Portugal , alertando para o problema da poluição das pontas de cigarro na rua e incentivando à responsabilidade partilhada no cuidar do planeta. Este projeto-piloto de sensibilização ambiental aconteceu na Freguesia da Penha da França, em Lisboa, em Novembro de 2019.

Compromisso Capital Verde 2020

No passado dia 29 de Janeiro, o Zero Waste Lab juntou-se a mais 199 entidades nacionais que assinaram compromissos ambientais para manifestar ao longo da próxima década, a convite da Lisboa Capital Verde Europeia 2020, sob o mote ESCOLHE EVOLUIR: 2030 medidas para 2030. Que muitas mais se juntem e, acima de tudo, que cumpram e elevem os seus compromissos, pois é a partir do nosso bom exemplo, individual e coletivo, que construímos um futuro do qual nos possamos orgulhar, deixando um legado promissor para as próximas gerações. Vamos a isso!

Formação Sustentabilidade em Eventos

No fim de semana de 25 e 26 de Janeiro de 2020, o Zero Waste Lab promove o Curso de Sustentabilidade em Eventos por Inez Aires (ZeroWasteLab/ GoodMood Produções), com colaboração de Artur Mendes (Boom Festival/ Being Gathering/ GoodMood Produções). Combinando aprendizagem ativa e elementos experimentais, este programa foi desenhado para permitir que os participantes implementem os seus próprios eventos mais sustentáveis. Como parte do programa, os participantes irão personalizar e aplicar um roteiro para o seu próprio evento sustentável.

Manifesto Lixo Zero - "Re-volta"

Esta é a história do peixe Re-volta, símbolo do Manifesto Lixo Zero, resultado de um ano de trabalho de sensibilização junto a comunidade da Mouraria, inaugurado no dia 19/09/2019. O Re-volta chegou até o centro de Lisboa para vomitar o que não lhe pertence, mas também para pedir que cada indivíduo passe pelo processo de transformação, de volta à sua origem, numa Reviravolta necessária para a manutenção da Vida de agora e para as próximas gerações.

Projeto Social em São Tomé e Príncipe

O projeto consistiu na doação de uma tecnologia, desenvolvida pela Precious Plastic, que permite a transformação do plástico em novos objetos.
